While the world was still in shock of the Verdict of the George Zimmerman case late Saturday night, more sad news came that made Saturday a day that many will not forget.
Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the Fox hit “Glee,” was found dead in a Vancouver, Canada, hotel room Saturday, police said. He was 31.
Vancouver police said the cause of death was not immediately apparent, but they ruled out foul play.
Medical examiners will conduct an autopsy Monday.
Monteith’s body was discovered by staff members at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel after he missed his checkout time, acting Chief Constable Doug LePard told reporters.
Monteith apparently had several people over to his room at one point Friday night, but LePard said Monteith, who had checked in July 6, was seen on hotel surveillance video returning to his room in the early morning hours by himself. CNN reports
Back in 2011 Cory shared that he dropped out of high school and once had troubles with drug abuse which led to a visit to rehab in Parade magazine.
Mar. 31, 2013: E! News confirmed that Monteith checked into rehab.
“Cory Monteith has voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction,” he rep revealed. “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”
His girlfriend and costar Lea Michele also spoke out out the news, saying in a tweet, “Feeling so grateful today.”
April 26, 2013: The actor completed his treatment and tweeted to fans, “sending out big love to everyone. thank you for the continued support! It means the world to me! 
”
After Cory’s visit to rehab him and Lea were seen on various vacations and dates, and Cory seemed back to normal
July 6, 2013: Monteith checked into Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Hotel for undisclosed reasons. The actor, who had family in the city, was seen spending time with friends during his stay.
July 12, 2013: According to the Vancouver Police Department, Monteith was out with people the evening before his death. An examination of hotel footage showed him returning to his room alone early Saturday morning.
July 13, 2013: The news that Monteith had been found dead was confirmed by his reps, saying, “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”
